Turbosteel Manufacturing Process

ERMgroup’s steel making entity, Prakash Sponge Iron and Power Pvt.Ltd, at Challakere in Karnataka, covers area of 200 acres & manufactures high grade mild steel.

We also produce the sponge iron required for steel making. As forward integration, we use induction furnace and superior equipment such as MSS Convertor and LRF (Ladle Refining Furnace) to produce high quality liquid steel.

This is then cast by the Continuous Casting Machine to produce Low Phosphorous Sulphur (LPS) Mild Steel Billets and now recently into steel Re-bars

Turbosteel 3 Main Parameters

Turbosteel ensures highest quality from by using 3 main technological aspects as mentioned below

Ladle refining of liquid metal is a proven technology to produce high quality steel. A Ladle Refining Furnace is used to raise the temperature and adjust the chemical composition of molten metal. Without LRFs, higher tap temperatures are normally required from steel making furnaces due to heat losses during refining with conventional ladles.

Tempcore is the Best Process for the Production of High Quality Re-bars, costly alloy elements (Vanadium, Niobium) are replaced by low-cost water, in order to obtain from low C-Mn steel, concrete reinforcing bars with :

  • High mechanical properties (DIN 488 IVS, Fe500, BS4449-97)
  • Excellent welding ability
  • Excellent ductility and bendability

Automatic Cooling Bed that is primarily used for purpose of uniform air-cooling of TMT bars and transporting the same in a phased manner. This transporting is done from the entry of the cooling bed to discharge side.
